... Sarah Claire's Fave 5 Oz polishes of 2011 ...

Everyone else seems to be doing top lists at the moment so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. These are my favourite 5 Australian polishes that I've been wearing this year. I've really based this on which colours I wear the most - I don't blog every time I change my polish so a lot of days go unnoticed blogwise but these are definitely the 5 I pull out of the helmer most often. [And I know 2 aren't exactly from 2011 as such but pfffft!!!]

Face of Australia Molten Metallics - White Gold
I will never ever get sick of this entire range but the white gold is definitely my favourite out of the series. Especially in regards to stamping. It just seems to go well with nearly every polish and it is a dream to work with.

Glitter Gal - Purple 3D Holo
I will never regret the day I stumbled into the Perfume Connection and came across Glitter Gal polishes. The bottles may be on the small side [which they are making bigger next year! Hurrah!]. This is a beautiful colour purple regardless but the holographic makes it WOW! A lot of people in real life who are non-polish fantatics have asked about this range and I've probably kept at least 1 eBay seller in business because of this. I hate to think how much I've spent on Glitter Gal this year for people but it's been so worth it.

Cate Ruby - Tate
Seriously ... Cate Ruby was my biggest find for 2011. I stumbled across them via Google and I really need to expand my collection of their polishes in 2012. Tate is the most vibrant pink and as I wear pink the most often out of my vast wardrobe it matches perfectly everytime. I also cannot get enough of the bottles and love the diamonte ring. It is so different and innovative! Also the owner Tracey is extremely lovely and as a new blogger to the scene this year it was such a thrill to get a mention on their Facebook page for reviewing their products - especially without sending a million "look at me" emails! I look forward to seeing what 2012 holds for Cate Ruby

piCture pOlish - Jealousy
I don't know how piCture pOlish manage to do it. I've brought so many glitter polishes this year but none compare to Jealousy and it's smoothness and lack of uncomfortable grittiness! This is my favourite polish to turn too when I know I won't be able to change/remove my polish for a few days just because of how long lasting it is. I never get chips or peels ... just a little tip wear and that's it.

Ozotic Pro 504 Twilight [now just renamed Ozotic 504]
I really need to reswatch this as looking back on my original swatches during my first week of blogging just make me cringe. Oh well - you've got to start somewhere! This is one of my favourite multichromes and it shifts from blue to purple to reddy bronze - beautiful.

... pink holo comparison ...

Today I have a bit of a quick one for you that was requested at some stage in the past and as usual I totally  forgot about it. Firstly - how does Ozotic Pro 601 compare with Chemistry 601 and how do they both compare to Glitter Gal pink polishes. I'd seen swatches of Ozotic 601 and from there really wanted to get hold of it as it looked slightly different from Chemistry 601 but until I put them together I wasn't 100% sure

So here are the contenders ....

From left to right ... Glitter Gal Fuchsia, Chemistry 601, Ozotic 601, Glitter Gal Frappe

Just from the bottles you can see that the 601 polishes look identical. GG Fuchsia is close but there is more of a rainbow and Frappe is a lighter colour all together.

Again left to right  ... Glitter Gal Fuchsia, Chemistry 601, Ozotic Pro 601, Glitter Gal Frappe

These are 2 coats of each on the colour wheel and you'll notice that the Glitter Gal Fuchsia and Chemistry 601 are a similar shade of pink but the difference is that the Glitter Gal is a linear holo with that full rainbow appearing while the Chemistry is a scatter. Frappe is definitely a lot closer in colour to the Ozotic in this shot [although again one is linear one is scattered] - they aren't as similar as the Fuchsia and Chemistry though.

Pretty close but slightly different - the Ozotic is a lot more sheer than the Chemistry. This is 3 coats of Ozotic and 2 of Chemistry. Plus the Chemistry is noticeably darker and doesn't show the white dots of holo so much when they aren't out blinging in the sun.

** Final Verdict **
All up it's a hard call when you compare scattered and linear holos. I love Chemistry 601 and definitely prefer it over Ozotic 601 just because it is a brighter pink and doesn't have the white spots in the shade. Both the Glitter Gals are pretty nice but I'd definitely pick of Fuchsia just because Frappe is rather sheer.

Right-o. If I was smart I would have swatched Glitter Gal Purple with these polishes instead of doing it a month ago. It seems pointless to reswatch as it wasn't long ago so here is my original post.

So ... I'm interested to see how Ozotic 513 [from yesterday] actually pairs up with Glitter Gal. I've heard them called dupes of each other many times before but Google images didn't want to enlighten me with any swatches of them together.

So ... which is Ozotic 513 and which is Glitter Gal Dark Purple??? 

Honestly I can't tell and if you can then you have better eyesight than me. For the record my middle and pinky are proudly wearing the Ozotic while the other 2 are loving life in Glitter Gal.

If you want to be really picky about it the Glitter Gal is slightly more slick and shiny which is only noticeable inside and the other main difference is that I only used 2 coats of Ozotic and 3 coats of Glitter Gal to get the same results. Apart from that they are the exact same colour with the exact same holo goodness!

** Final Verdict **
End of the day which do you choose ... really it comes down to money and what you want to spend. GlitterGal is the cheapest of the 2 at $11.95 AUD but ... you do only get a tiny 9ml/0.3fl oz bottle for that. The Ozotic is more expensive at $14.95 but you get 16ml/0.5fl oz

Hope that solves all theories about the dupiness! Tomorrow I'll bring you another holo ... promise!

Ozotic 513

I know this one has appeared frequently on my Blogs I read list lately but it needs to be included here with all the other purple fantasticness. I don't want it to feel left out of the love.

Ozotic 513 is a dark purple holographic. It's definitely darker than the first 2 purple holos that I've swatched this week. It's a pretty purple by itself. I guess I should point out that this is now a discontinued style bottle - I saw yesterday that Ozotics are going rectangular. Unsure how I feel about that yet but I guess we'll find out as they filter through into my helmer

Application was a breeze - no streaks or unsightly marks here. This is 2 coats of fun fun fun! I haven't used a top coat this time around but I've personally had no issues with the ones I've used on this polish. The holo seems to shine on through!

I've often been told that this is similar to Glitter Gal Purple ... but how similar? I'll show you tomorrow :) I'm curious too :)

** Final Verdict **
If you want a genuine in your face linear holographic purple polish then put this on your Wishlist. It's well worth it.

... Blue Monday - Ozotic Pro 506 ...

Welcome to Blue Monday. Here's todays nails. It's blue ... kinda!

Ozotic Pro Multichromatic 506 - Reef

I've tried to grab as many colours as I can in the bottle for this photo. One day I'll figure out how to actually photograph these multichromatics properly. It's so hard to get in the right spot to grab all the colours! I found this colour to be similar to 504 Twilight in that it has purples and blues but this one also has a greeny gold colour going on [that I could not for the life of me photo properly]

As I'm coming to expect from the Ozotic Pro range - it's streak free, no bubbles and dries quickly.

I layered this over BYS Nocturnal which is a dark blue instead of black like I regularly use. I'm sure that would explain why I've got a lot more blue showing up! Still pretty though.

** Final Verdict**

Everyone should have at least one multichrome in their collection. It's definitely the polish I get the most comments on when I'm out and about! I'm not sure if I like Reef as much as I like Twilight but both are still great polishes

Why paint your nails one single colour that remains the same when you can do a range in one go!!

I have been waiting so impatiently since I ordered my first batch of goods from PicturePolish and it finally arrived during the week. Included was my first batch of Ozotic Pro polishes and can't stop looking at them. They sparkle, they catch the sun and they make me smile everytime I see them.

There hasn't been that much sun around my area lately but I found that I could easily get my nails to change from really from a deep dark blue to a bright purple and all the colours in between. The bottle seems to indicate there are a lot more colours hidden in there!

This is an extremely easy polish to use - trust me. I generally make a mess of at least one finger but no issues here whatsoever. The polish itself is very shiny and smooth. I've layered it over a black base coat just to make sure the colour could stand out and although I've done 2 coats for these photos you could easily get away with one as the colour definitely came through straight away.

I found it dried relatively quickly aswell which is fantastic. I should point out that both these photos were taken day 3 of were WITHOUT a top coat/hardener [I got lazy]. I've got a big fat zero chips which is such a bonus for a great colour. I haven't bothered retouching it up yet as I wanted to see how long I could go before it decided to come apart on me ... but no sign yet.

I've tried to take photos grabbing the fantastic colours that reflect out of this polish but it's so hard to grab them all.

** Final Verdict **
You know you want this!!! It's shiny, it changes colour and I guarantee it'll make you go into a goofy grin everytime you catch the light reflecting off your nails. I will easily give it 10/10
