... piCture pOlish - Shocked ...

I'm really excited to have the opportunity to bring this exclusive to you all! Introducing Shocked ... by Shatter Me Claire ;)

IT'S PARTY TIME PEOPLE!!!   Celebrate good times c'mon!!! Oh wait ... wrong song! *changes CDs*

♫ Tell me, I'm only dreaming ... and I'll believe you! ♫
♫ Can't see how this could be true!! ♫

I'm sure a lot of you remember the last piCture pOlish blogfest from last July. There were so many pretties showcased that day and  I was very flattered to be given an offer to be included in their collaboration range along with so many well known bloggers who are already listed.

Photo taken in natural sunlight

Anyone who is a long time reader of my blog, knows that I love pink! Also I like things that are full of sparkle and eye catching!  Shocked is all of the above. It's very me and although I didn't physically make it, I'm glad that it turned out to be myself captured into a bottle.

Photo taken in natural sunlight

Obviously "Shocked" is a vibrant pink and it has a hidden gem of holographic glitters through out. These photos are all 3 coats of yummy goodness and like all piCture pOlish polishes, it was fast drying and lump free! Awesome! I found I had a good chip free run aswell with it which is fantastic if you don't want to change your polish every 24 hours.

And I'm sure there will be people out there confused over the "blurb" which is ...
Rock your nails
With our Kylie

Nope - my name isn't Kylie!! But if you don't get the reference then hopefully this YouTube clip will help explain the motives behind it.

*queue dodgy 90s Australian music clip*

I chose the name "Shocked" because a] I was shocked to even be considered as a finalist and b] I wanted to name it after something Aussie. I like Kylie Minogue and while I was thinking of names, this came on the radio. Really, it worked in well because the piCture pOlish girls thought of Kylie's song Shocked aswell when I submitted the name. It was meant to be!

Photo taken indoors

As I just can't leave things alone, here it is with some pretty heart stamping taken from the Lilic's A02 plate. I thought hearts were appropriate as I love it simply just because it's so me!

Shocked is available from today [woohoo!] from piCture pOlish and other network members.  Currently it's in limited supply so if you'd like a bottle then get onto it sooner rather than later!!

... Ozotic 914 Scatter Chrome ...

Ozotic 914 Scatter Chrome
Available from piCture pOlish - $12.00 AUD and other network members

These pretties seem to be talked about a lot on my feed since their release so I'm so happy to have my hands on one!! I'm bringing you this beauty today - Ozotic 914 which is one of the new scatter chromes. As the name suggests "Scatter Chrome" is part scatter holographic and part duochrome or in other words "it's AWESOME".

914 shifts from blue to a violet purple and the holographic appears in sunlight as an extra bonus to drool over. I've given this my best shot but my camera refused to capture the true beauty of the purple but I hope you get an idea regardless.

All my swatch shots are 3 coats and like every other Ozotic I own, there are no bumps, lumps or unsightly bits. Real life friends you need to get this!! You don't need any special base coat [or top coat] and you don't need to wait forever for it dry. Really simple stuff!
The shift starts off with a pretty blue ..
Holo in the sun!!!
Slowly changes towards the dark side
But it's still holo!!
Darker ... darker ...
Super Vibrant PURPLE!!!

** Final Verdict **
I love this - it's pretty, it's holo and it changes colour. What more can you want?? There are a lot more pretty purple combinations that it throws at you but I just couldn't get my camera to pick them up. I definitely have no complaints with this beauty!!

Polishes were provided for review but all opinions, humour and dodgy photography are my own!

... Flakie Comparisons ...

Bit of an odd post today for me as I'm not a fan of swatches on nail sticks but I have had a lot of questions lately that need answering ... so here goes!

I'm a self proclaimed flakie lover. They are definitely my favourite things to wear and I ALWAYS get compliments on them.

I've been busy swatching my entire stash and getting organised for once!! I'm trying to sort via colour and into fans of holos, multichromes, glitters and flakies. Now originally I posted this online which I took with my phone so excuse the fact it's not crisp!!
Beautiful Flakie Fan of Rainbow Awesomeness!!!

Unfortunately these are not all my flakies [I have a few missing in action] but it's a good percentage of them. These are all 3 coats and swatched on Ulta3 Black Satin (no double dipping or fishing around for flakies allowed!)

Colours from left to right are ...
Chi Chi - Crystal Top Coat
Finger Paints - Twisted
Australis - Speck-tacular
piCture pOlish - Festival
Glitter Gal - Lightning Ridge
piCture pOlish - Hypnotic
Finger Paints - Asylum
Glitter Gal - Andamooka Blue
Finger Paints - Motley
Glitter Gal - Coober Pedy Green
Finger Paints - Flecked
Inglot - 203
Inglot - 205
Inglot - 202
Essie - Shine of the Times
piCture pOlish - Splendour
Finger Paints - Fleshy
Nubar - 2010

First question I've been asked is regarding the bottle sizes. Now I've said for a LONG time that the Inglot flakies are my favourite polishes EVER and would totally recommend them. They are the smallest bottles out of what I own but they are definitely the most dense in regards to jam packing the flakes in!!

Glitter Gal and Finger Paints - 15ml, piCture pOlish - 11ml, Australis - 10ml, Inglot 8ml

In regards to price - the Glitter Gals are the most expensive at $16.50AUD but the little Inglots are right on their tail at $16AUD. I'm sure by now the American girls are cringing at the price but welcome to Australia - land of expensive polish!! All except the Finger Paints are still in stock in Aussie stores!

But on the plus side - those little Inglots pack more punch with 1 coat than 3 of the others so in my opinion it's worth the price!!

So let's kick it off with those beautiful gold/orange/green flakes ...
Left to Right ...
Inglot - 202
Essie - Shine of the Time
piCture pOlish - Splendour
Finger Paints - Flashy
Nubar - 2010

While they are all "dupes" of being gold/orange/green flakes ... see how the Essie really gives the Inglot a run for it's money in terms of density!! But check out poor Nubar 2010 at the end. When I first got into blogging the Nubar was the flakie to go too ... but if you want them packed then Inglot or Essie are the ones to grab.
The only difference I can see is that the Essie has slightly smaller "flakes". Honestly from a distance you would be hard pressed to tell them apart.

Now onto the blue/green flakes ...
Left to Right ....
Glitter Gal - Coober Pedy Green
Finger Paints - Flecked
Inglot - 203
Inglot - 205

Again the Inglots clearly stand out in terms of density. I know that 205 isn't a blue/green flake but a green/gold but it's only green/gold I have and it didn't want to feel left out of the photoshoot!!

And finally the multi coloured flakes ...

Left to Right ...
piCture pOlish - Festival
Australis - Speck-tacular
Finger Paints - Twisted
ChiChi - Crystal Top Coat

I wish Inglot made a multicolour flake as while these 4 are pretty and very much the same they aren't very dense with the flakies!
The Australis and Finger Paints have slightly larger flakes which show up a lot more clearer than the other 2 from a distance but I'm sure if you own any of these 4 you will be extremely happy!!

Hope that helps all your flakie questions!!! If you have anymore leave a message and I'll get answering.

... Face of Australia Barbados - Let's Go Scuba Diving ...

Face of Australia Barbados - Let's Go Scuba Diving
Available from Big W
I've been having a bit of a green streak lately. So many pretty shades of wonder! Anyway this is bound to be another favourite.

Let's Go Scuba Diving is a beautiful metallic green with a green shimmer just to add more magnificence to it! As with all the other colours it's fast drying and after yesterdays fun it was great to have a non-stinky polish back on my fingers!

The only downfall I could find is like most greens it isn't friendly towards cuticles so please apply with care. Apart from that - it's gorgeous!!

** Final Verdict **
Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

Before I go ... if anyone wishes to be Facebook friends please leave a message or email me! I don't bite! In recent weeks I've found this most useful in getting info on sales and deals that otherwise I may have overlooked!
