... Aussie Nail Monday - Color Club Kismet ...

Hello new readers! Howzit going? Sorry I've been absent but lets just say fingers + car door = no blog posts!!

Now ... back to it!!
Todays Aussie Nail Monday theme is "Bright" so I couldn't go past showing off another beautiful holographic polish!!
Bright enough for ya? *wink*  Now this stunner is "Kismet" and it's from the new Color Club Halo Hues collection.
Now I have nothing on the wheel of holo that's the exact shade but the closest I could find is FNUG Fantastica. The FNUG is more green and Kismet is more brown ... but nothing else matches! It's definitely a unique colour.

Inside it's not so "bright" but it's still a really pretty colour.
The only thing I was disappointed with is the fact it was prone to bald spots *sad* The other Halo Hue series didn't seem to have this issue and while it's easily fixed with patience and some aqua base it's worthwhile noting.

... Chi Chi - Pink Flamingos in the Pool ...

Chi Chi - Pink Flamingos in the Pool
Available from Target and Myer - this bottle was gifted ;)

Happy 2013 everyone!!

I'm back after a super break. Miss me?? I've been on 2 holidays ... broke my nails so badly ... and wore the same polish for 2 weeks straight. But I'm refreshed and I'll be making up for lost time in the days to come!!  I seem to have a lot of photos and draft posts to get out!!

I'm kicking off my year with this beauty that Kristy over at The Polish Haven gave me for Christmas. It's from Chi Chi and it's Pink Flamingos in the Pool.
I love pretty pinks and this didn't look too bad on my super nubs at all. YAY!!!!
And there is a sneaky surprise in the bottle with a blue tinge. I could not get this to reflect on my nails no matter how hard I tried *sighs* But here's a snazzy bottle shot for you so you can see what I'm talking about.

ChiChi generally have amusing polish names and I'm assuming this one is a reference to the line in the Katy Perry song Last Friday night *queue music*

One of my main blog resolutions for 2013 is to do more stamping and nail art! I couldn't find any flamingo stamps in my vast collection but I saw Katy in concert in 2011 ... and her stage was all candy and lollipops so I went with that theme.
I've used the fantastic A01 plate from Lilic's for this design. Icecream, candy, cupcakes ... nom nom nom nom nom.
Pretty pretty pretty! Katy would be proud!! Oh ... wanna know the best part??? Put it into the sun!!
Sparkle Sparkle!!! I've used Color Club Blue Heaven for the stamp! YAY for holo stamping!!
Man those Color Club Holo Hues stamp fine!!!
** Final Verdict **
This is an awesome pink. Perfect for summer as it's so fun and vibrant. While I wasn't sold on the stamping to start off with I loved it in the sun!! Maybe next time I'll add more holo ;)  These Color Clubs are fantastic to stamp with!! Get on it!!

... This is Halloween Nail Art - Zombies ...

I'll be the first to admit - I'm not big into Zombies. They don't interest me at all. I don't watch shows or movies about Zombies [Simpsons Treehouse of Horror would be the only one!] and I'm not into the whole Zombie apocalypse.

I do however love the game Plants vs Zombies which I've mentioned here before. I currently just play on my iPhone and find it quite relaxing.
I've used water decals for these and while they aren't the best I'm pretty pleased with my first go at printing them myself. I just need to work on getting my background colours a bit better suited. I've tried to do the different grass patterns but it just hasn't worked.  I'm super pleased with how my plants worked out - not so with my bucket and disco zombies ... but hey ... that should stop them getting into my house!!
Colours used are Color Club Perfect Mol-Ten and Cult Nails Deal With It.

** Now go and check out some other Zombie nails - trust me they are more spookier than mine!! **

... Coral Colors Magnetic Nail - Blue Appeal ...

Coral Colors Magnetic Nail - Blue Appeal
Purchased from Chemplus - $7.95 AUD
Like Alluring Violet the previous Coral Color I looked at ... Blue Appeal is an extremely pretty polish by itself without having to rely on the magnetism to make it stand out. It's a shame there isn't a non-magnet version.

I've used a single thick coat for these swatches like the instructions say and I found it was surprisingly quick drying considering. Also I've used the stripe magnets that came on the top of the bottle and actually after previously using it for Alluring Violet I found this really easy to use! Awesome! [Hint! Just roll it from side to side slowly and without hitting your nail!]
Oooh pretty glitter stripes. Also this was a beautiful winter polish to wear on those rainy days. Not too overpowering but still stunning.
Pretty bottle shot ... sparkle sparkle!
Oh and I'll leave you with a matte shot to show how truely beautiful this is!
** Final Verdict **
Such a beautiful colour. Fast drying and definitely easy to use with the magnet supplied. The only fault really with this polish is the fact that Coral Colors don't supply any other magnet designs with it! If you are into the magnetic look then you might want to look out for this one.

... Color Club - Diva Driver ...

Color Club - Diva Driver
Gifted from Jeanie

So ... who's missed me???

I seriously envy you girls who keep up nail blogs while working full time - I'm struggling at the moment to even read blogger nevermind make a post. Life is just extremely busy at the moment and days where I used to be able to have a few hours of "me" time have turned into having meetings, doing school events or Christmas shopping. School ends in a fortnight for summer holidays and I have discovered my next free weekend is in mid January - ugh.

Anyway enough ranting ... here is a beautiful colour that I picked out to wear on the weekend for a wedding [yes another wedding!! Tis the season]

This is Color Club Diva Driver and it's a beautiful pinky purple that seems to change which one it is more like depending on the sunlight. It's a very vibrant and bright colour with high gloss without a topcoat.  I've only used 2 coats and it applied perfectly with no lumps or bumps and it dried quickly.
I decided to glam it up with some stamping from Konad plate m82 using Face of Australia Molten Metallics in White Gold [one day i'll get the hang of these flower stamps and make sure they all face the same direction!!]
*Final Verdict*
An extremely easy to use polish that is bright and happy. In hindsight I probably should have stamped in white instead of white gold but the effect still looks fantastic and what I wanted.

Hopefully I'll be back posting regularly again soon - I'm in a bit of Christmas mood now that wedding season has finished and I'll need to have my nails reflecting that!!
